About
The workbench was originally purchased from Amazon and is actually too tall for electronics work. A shelf was built on it with 2x4 Basic brackets and lumber from Home Depot. On top of the shelf sits a Tektronix 2465B analog oscilloscope, a budget Siglent arbitrary waveform generator (function generator), a box containing various isolation transformers, and a variac. A mini PC is bolted to the side of the shelf and connected to the monitor, which is used for measurements with Digilent’s Analog Discovery 3 and QuantAsylum’s QA403 audio analyzer. Parts and components are stored on the top shelf.
On the benchtop there are four Korad power supplies that aren’t great but versatile, a small Rigol digital oscilloscope, a BK Precision handheld LCR meter, and a few handheld multimeters scattered around. For working on circuits, there are two Hakko soldering stations with corroded stands, a fume extractor, a desoldering gun, and some helping hands. And of course, a pile of junk from various failed projects.
Han has wanted to become the "evil mad scientist" portrayed in cartoons and shows since a very young age. However, he succumbed to reality and lost most of his evil and ended up becoming an engineer. "How could you afford your own lab as an underpaid scientist in this economy?" Yet, he is still mad and only owns a workbench.
Han also tried to get good at playing musical instruments, but he is too impatient to practice. Instead, he channeled the frustration into acquiring and building audio gears. He has a fetish for low distortion and low noise audio electronics. You will find many of his projects revolving around things that can be used to make noise despite being low noise.
What about Han?
A life-hack master without a life.
“If you spend time understanding how things work around you, you can become a life-hack master; but if you spend too much time doing so, you will not have a life.”
